Brief introduction
“Oyunii Tuv" Elementary, Middle and Secondary School was established in 1999 with the vision of “Leading every child to achieve his highest potential." The School, which started with only eleven students, has over one hundred thirty students today and continues to grow.
In response to the high demand for expertise in Information Technology, English and Math, Oyunii Tuv specializes in these areas in order to equip our students for the globalized world of tomorrow.
It is the School's policy to not only to provide excellent instruction in academics but also in character education. Our educational staff therefore cooperates with the Character Training Institute of America and uses their fine curriculum.
Oyunii Tuv's IT Program
Managed by experts in the field, we offer IT Training in: Microsoft Windows, Photoshop, HTML, Programming, Web Design, Multimedia, Internet and more.
The program offers training in a "state of the art" high technology internet based laboratory setting.
Many students have achieved awards from the IT sector such as the" Think Quest International Event" from the Oracle Educational Foundation, as well as Microsoft Certificates and National Computing Olympiad Awards.
- Oyunii Tuv's English as a Second Language Program
Oyuni Tuv employs a variety of assessment tools to tailor instruction according to individuals level of achievement and experience with the language.
There is a computer based interactive language laboratory which uses Rosetta Stone Software to afford each learner an opportunity to move ahead at his or her own pace.
Native English speakers are also part of the school's ESL program affording students the opportunity to hear and practice the language in their classes.
Our students have been high achievers at all levels including District, City, and National Olympiads..
- Oyunii Tuv's Mathmatic's Department
Of utmost importance is training in mathematics because of its integral nature in every career worldwide. More importantly, doing math helps the mind to reason and organize complicated information regarding situations or problems into clear, simple, and logical steps. Thus, as students develop expertise in math, their minds will eventually develop in the area of logic. This entity contributes to the ability to resolve difficult life problems and situations.
The Mathematics Program at Oyunii Tuv is of prime importance therefore the highest concentration of time and energy is devoted to teaching this discipline.
- Oyunii Tuv's Character Education
Qualities of Character which are built into an individual's life determine that individual's responses despite challenging life circumstances.
It is Oyunii Tuv's goal to develop leaders for tomorrow who will serve with integrity. We will strive to help students internalize such qualities of character as honesty, dependability, and humility, with a focus on caring about the success of others as well as their own. We believe that in this way our students will develop leadership qualities which will contribute to a healthy emerging democracy. Opportunities are provided during the program to incorporate the knowledge they have learned in order to incorporate it into their life style at all levels……home, school, and community.
Therefore, Oyunii Tuv School believes that lives will be enhanced like the brilliance of a diamond as each facet of character is developed.
Oyunii Tuv school uses the character curriculum developed by the Character First Publishing Company in America . These materials are available at the Character Training Institute which has a branch in Mongolia.
In order to develop good character, our teachers, students and parents work together to impact the brighter future of Mongolia.
- Oyunii Tuv After School Activities
We offer a variety of after school activities such as piano, dance, tae kwondo, table tennis, chess, etc so that students develop their leisure interests.
- Oyunii Tuv's Social Activities
- Students are given opportunities through social activities to learn to love and care for those in need and also to learn respect for and sharing with others.
A wide gamut of social activities help to create a bond between teachers and students where love and caring contribute to a feeling of well being for all. These include: Harvest Festival, Talent Show, English Day , Sport Days, Mothers' Day, Fathers' Day, and Teachers' Day.
- Oyunii Tuv's Relationship with Parents
We are eager to have a more intimate relationship with parents through regular meetings, the internet, and students' handbook. We endeavor to partner with parents as we teach them the Character Lessons that the children are learning hoping to offer love and support as they guide their children through various developmental stages.
